Annchen Bodenstab

Annchen Bodenstab is an artist currently residing in Northeastern Saskatchewan, but her artistic development began in he home country, South Africa. In her youth, she developed skills in watercolour, woodcarving and calligraphy, and, before long, she began to teach these forms. Leah Henderson

Visual Artist

Born in Swan River, MB and moved to Melfort at a young age, Leah started creating art from the inspiration of my grandmother’s landscape paintings. Gaining a Diploma in Fine Arts expanded her skills, knowledge and appreciation of art. Her preferred mediums are painting and drawing but she has grown to include collage and digital media into her practice. Leah's art consists mainly of figurative subject matter, some others being various depictions of nature, landscapes, and interior/exterior spaces. Majority of her work deals with themes of the human figure, human emotions, the relationship between the mind and body and the examination into the ideal of beauty. She is recently interested in the inner workings of the subconscious and dream interpretation and finds inspiration from pop culture, counterculture and found images. Her art practice continues to grow and change as she learns more about herself and her art as she evolves as a young artist in Saskatchewan.

Nadine Hoffman

Visual Artist

Nadine Hoffman was born in 1970 and raised on a mixed farm in central Saskatchewan. She and her husband have a farm in Northeast Saskatchewan where they are raising their two teenage children. Nadine currently teaches elementary school full time.

There was never a time when creating and making art was not a part of her life. Nadine has had little formal training but enjoys workshops and painting retreats when time allows. She has had some experience with pottery, and carving, and has painted several murals in Saskatchewan and Alberta. For a time, Nadine was a frequent contributor of single-panel cartoons to the Western Producer newspaper. Although acrylics and other mediums are of interest, watercolour has been her focus for the past several years.

Nadine takes inspiration from the landscape of the beautiful province of Saskatchewan; sky, water, land, and the accompanying flora and fauna are common subjects in her work. The subtle contours of the prairie and sky possess contrasts of vibrant and muted colours that have endless possibilities to be explored through paper and brush.

Nadine has recently begun to exhibit and sell her work. She is a member of the 12th City Artist Collective in Melfort, SK.

Olivia Maney

Visual Artist

I am a visual artist living and working in the Northeast Region of Saskatchewan, Canada. I grew up on the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia where I had my first real introduction and teaching in the arts. From my late teens to early twenties I spent time in the BC interior and Alberta before moving permanently to Saskatchewan in late 2001. While initially planning on pursuing a career as an artist, I put that path on hold for a time while I concentrated on raising a family, but began transitioning back to my art fulltime in 2017. I have been a curious observer my entire life and wish with my art to in some way capture life and the world around me. Little glimpses of the everyday that might be missed by the participant. I have been greatly inspired by the places I have lived as well as by my travels, though I find inspiration it seems wherever I happen to be.

Christina Miller

Visual Artist

Christina is a recent transplant to Saskatchewan. She obtained her BFA and her love of the outdoors in Alberta where she grew up. A broad range of mediums appeal to her in her pursuit of creating beautiful and meaningful work but she chooses to focus primarily on drawing, acrylic painting and printmaking.

She has a longlasting love of landscape and portrays real places in her work - capturing moments that are both specific and ubiquitous. Her landscapes issue an invitation to take a deep breath and pause, and enter into a moment of quietness.
